Rogue Challenges: 1000lb Club FAQ
The 1000lb Club is a badge of honor for those who can move a combined total of 500, 750, 1000, 1250 or 1500 pounds across three lifts: Back Squat, Bench Press, and Deadlift. Because this challenge is tied to specific "Earned" rewards, the judging standards are significantly higher.
The "One-Hour" Rule
How much time do I have? All three lifts must be completed within one hour.
When does the clock start? Your 60-minute timer begins just before your first attempt at the first lift.
Verification: You must show a live connection to Time.is (on a phone or tablet) to the camera before each lift to verify the time and date.
Equipment & Calibration Standards
Do I have to weigh my gear? No. There is no requirement to weigh each weight or the barbell on camera but you must clearly show the weights being used and you must measure the grip width as per the rules.
Grip Width (Bench Press): You must use tape to mark the 81cm (31.9”) mark on your barbell to show the maximum allowable hand placement.
Barbells: Multiple bars may be used as long as they are all shown on camera per the event details and they are NOT specialty bars.
Kilo Plates: Participants may use either pounds or kilograms. When submitting your score, be sure to select the correct unit of measurement. If you use kilogram plates, enter your score in kilograms (1 kg = 2.204LB).
Movement Standards (Quick Check)
Order of Lifts: You can perform the lifts in any order, but you must verify all equipment before the first lift begins.
Squat: Hip crease must clearly go below the top of the knee. Make sure you re-rack the bar unassisted and do not drop the bar backwards from the top of the lift.
Bench Press: Both shoulder blades and glutes must remain in contact with the bench at all times.
Deadlift: No lifting straps are allowed. You must reach a full lockout with hips and knees extended.
The 1000lb Club T-Shirt
How do I get my shirt? Unlike other challenges where shirts are shipped automatically, the 1000lb Club shirt must be earned. The $30 entry fee gets you access to the competition. Athletes who follow all competition rules and have their scores approved by the judging team will earn a custom T-shirt. Those who do not submit a score or whose score is not accepted will not receive a T-shirt.
-
The Process:
1. Submit your score and video.
2. Wait for judge approval (ruling via email).
3. Once approved, the shirt is unlocked in your Earned Store.
4. You must "purchase" (claim) the shirt in the store to initiate shipping.
Video Submission Tips
Angle: We recommend a 45-degree angle for all lifts to ensure the judges can see depth and lockouts clearly.
Uncut Video: Your equipment verification and each individual lift attempt should be unedited.
Visibility: Ensure your knees and elbows are visible (not covered by long sleeves or baggy pants) so judges can verify lockouts.
Weight Tiers & Division Changes
What if I lift more (or less) than the weight tier I signed up for? Don't worry about manually changing your registration. If your submitted total puts you in a different tier (e.g., you signed up for the 1000lb Club but totaled 1250lb), our judging team will automatically move you to the correct division during review.
Which shirt will I get? The shirt added to your Earned Store will reflect the tier of your accepted score, not your original registration.
Judging & T-Shirt Status
I submitted my score weeks ago and haven’t heard back. What should I do? No action is needed. Depending on submission volume, the judging process can take several weeks.
-
How will I know the result?
If Accepted: You will receive an email confirmation, and your earned T-shirt will be added to your Earned Store under your Rogue ID.
If Rejected: You will receive an email explaining the specific reason for the rejection.
Can I try again if I’m rejected? Yes! If your submission is rejected, you do not qualify for the shirt, but you are welcome to submit a new attempt/video as long as the competition window remains open.
Group Submissions (Gyms & Affiliates)
If you are completing the challenge in a group setting or at your local gym, you may modify the video standards using these guidelines:
Introduction: Start the video by introducing everyone participating in the challenge.
Time/Date: Keep a live Time.is display visible in the background throughout the entire session, OR have each athlete show the time/date on camera immediately before each attempt.
Identification: Before each lift, the athlete must state their name and the weight being attempted.
Time Stamps: When submitting your score, you must include the timestamps in the notes field for your heaviest successful attempts so judges can easily locate them in the group video.
Location: Please include the name of the gym where the challenge was performed during your submission.
In-Person Competitions
Can I submit videos from a powerlifting meet or in-person competition? No. Videos must be recorded specifically for the Rogue 1000lb Club Challenge. Videos from in-person competitions are not eligible for submission, as they are not performed under the controlled conditions required for the challenge.
