Overview
The Ohio Bar - Stainless Steel is the premium multi-purpose barbell in Rogue’s flagship lineup. This 20KG bar is engineered for maximum versatility, excelling in powerlifting, Olympic weightlifting, and high-intensity CrossFit® workouts. Because the shaft is made from stainless steel, it offers the highest level of corrosion resistance and a superior knurl feel that cannot be achieved with plated finishes. Fully machined and assembled in Columbus, Ohio, this bar is rated to outlast a lifetime of lifting.

Weight: 20KG (44 lbs).
Tensile Strength: 200,000 PSI (High rigidity with natural whip).
Shaft Coating: None—Stainless Steel (Bare metal provides the truest tactile feel of the knurl).
Sleeve Finish: Options for Hard Chrome or Stainless Steel (+$100.00).
Knurling: Dual knurl marks (Olympic and Powerlifting) with a "middle of the road" feel—firm enough for heavy pulls but not abrasive for high-rep sets.
Center Knurl: No. Saves the skin on the neck during movements like cleans and front squats.
Rotation System: Precision-machined bronze bushings for a smooth, stable, and 2X quieter spin.
Durability Rating: F100-R (Highest fatigue resistance; rated to last 200 years in high-volume gyms).
Origin: Made in the USA from US steel.
Performance Benefits
Optimal Grip: Without a coating (like zinc or chrome) to fill the valleys of the knurling, the bare stainless steel provides a sharp, reliable grip that is second to none.
Ultra-Corrosion Resistant: Stainless steel is the most effective material for resisting rust, making this the best choice for garage gyms in humid environments.
Maximum Stability: The 200K PSI steel and tighter bushing tolerances minimize axial and radial float, providing a solid, connected feel throughout every lift.
Low Profile Sleeves: Machined with a new low-profile design that makes loading and unloading plates smoother and faster.
Maintenance and Care
While stainless steel is exceptionally resistant to oxidation, simple maintenance is recommended to keep it performing like new.
Regular Brushing: Use a synthetic (nylon) bristle brush to clear chalk and debris from the knurling. Warning: DO NOT use a steel brush on a stainless steel shaft, as it can contaminate the metal and cause rust.
Cleaning: Apply a light coat of 3-in-1 oil and brush it in to remove stubborn debris. Wipe dry with a clean cloth.
Lubrication: Bronze bushings are self-lubricating, but a drop of 3-in-1 oil can be added to the sleeve-to-shaft interface if rotation begins to feel sluggish.
Sleeve Protection: Metal-to-metal contact with plates will show wear. Rogue recommends using J-cups with plastic liners to preserve the aesthetic of the chrome or stainless sleeves.
Warranty Information
The Ohio Bar is backed by a Lifetime Warranty against construction defects and bending.
Coverage: Covers the original purchaser against material and workmanship defects.
Exclusions: Does not cover normal "wear and tear" on the sleeves, or damage caused by negligence (e.g., dropping the bar on a bench, spotter arms, or safety pins).
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: Why are there machining marks on the shaft? A: Because the stainless steel shaft is uncoated (raw steel), cosmetic marks from the CNC machining process may be visible. These do not impact the performance or durability of the bar.
Q: Is this bar suitable for competitive powerlifting? A: Yes. It features powerlifting knurl marks and a 200K PSI shaft. However, for athletes focusing only on the Big Three, the Ohio Power Bar (29mm) may be preferred for its greater stiffness.
Q: Can I rack this bar in a standard power rack? A: Yes. The 51-7/8" shaft length between the sleeves allows it to be racked on all standard-width power racks, squat stands, and rigs.
Q: What is the F-Rating? A: The F-Rating (F100-R) is the highest fatigue resistance score Rogue offers. This bar is engineered to outlast a lifetime of lifting in both home and high-volume commercial environments.
