Key Features & Specifications
Shaft Diameter: 28.5mm (Multipurpose standard).
Weight: 20KG (44 lbs).
Tensile Strength: 200,000 PSI (High rigidity with natural whip).
Shaft Finish: None—Stainless Steel (Bare metal provides the truest tactile feel of the knurl).
Sleeve Finish: Proprietary Matte Black—a unique process that transforms the steel surface for superior corrosion and impact resistance.
Knurling: Dual knurl marks (Olympic and Powerlifting) with a "middle of the road" feel—firm enough for heavy pulls but not abrasive for high-rep sets.
Center Knurl: No. Ideal for high-rep movements involving the front rack position (cleans, front squats).
Rotation System: Precision-machined bronze bushings for a smooth, stable, and 2X quieter spin.
Durability Rating: F100-R (Highest fatigue resistance; rated to outlast 200 years in high-volume gyms).
Origin: Made in the USA from US steel.
Performance Benefits
Optimal Grip: With no plating to fill the valleys of the knurling, the bare stainless steel shaft provides a sharp, reliable connection between hand and bar that is second to none.
Unmatched Durability: The combination of a 200K PSI stainless shaft and Rogue Work Hardening (RWH) earns the bar an F100-R rating—the highest durability measurement Rogue offers.
Matte Black Sleeves: Unlike traditional coatings, the matte black finish effectively transforms the steel surface, retaining its appearance much longer and resisting wear from plate loading.
2X Quieter Performance: Refined sleeve and bushing tolerances eliminate unwanted axial and radial float, resulting in a more solid feel and significantly reduced noise when dropped.
Maintenance and Care
While stainless steel is exceptionally rust-resistant, basic maintenance is recommended to maintain the knurl feel.
Regular Brushing: Use a synthetic (nylon) bristle brush to clear chalk and debris from the knurling after use. Warning: DO NOT use a steel brush on a stainless steel shaft, as it can contaminate the metal and cause surface rust.
Deep Cleaning: Apply a light coat of 3-in-1 oil periodically, brush it into the knurl, and wipe dry with a clean cloth.
Lubrication: Bronze bushings are self-lubricating, but a drop of 3-in-1 oil can be added to the sleeve-to-shaft interface if rotation begins to feel restricted.
Sleeve Protection: Although highly resistant, metal-to-metal contact with iron plates will eventually show wear. Use plastic-lined J-cups to preserve the matte black aesthetic.
Warranty Information
The Ohio Bar is backed by a Lifetime Warranty against construction defects and bending.
Coverage: Covers the original purchaser against material and workmanship defects.
Exclusions: Does not cover normal "wear and tear" on the sleeves, or damage caused by negligence (e.g., dropping the bar on a bench, spotter arms, or safety pins).
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: Why are there machining marks on the shaft? A: Because the stainless steel shaft is uncoated (raw steel), cosmetic marks from the CNC machining process may be visible. These do not impact the performance or durability of the bar.
Q: Can I rack this bar in a standard power rack? A: Yes. The 52" shaft length between the sleeves allows it to be racked on all standard-width power racks, squat stands, and rigs.
Q: Does it include a free trial for Rogue Move? A: Yes. Purchase includes a 30-day free trial to the Rogue Move subscription service.
Q: What is the F-Rating? A: The F-Rating (F100-R) is a measured representation of the barbell's fatigue resistance based on functional testing (overhead drops). This bar is engineered to outlast a lifetime of lifting in both home and high-volume commercial environments.
