Overview
The Rogue Monster Crown Pull-Up Bar is the heavy-duty counterpart to the standard Crown Bar, specifically over-engineered for the Rogue Monster Series. This face-mount attachment transforms a standard 3x3" crossmember into a comprehensive multi-grip station. By incorporating multiple bar diameters and integrated climbing spheres, it allows athletes to train various grip widths (wide and narrow) and styles (pronated, supinated, and neutral) on a single, massive structural component.
Key Features and Specifications
Construction: 0.375" thick laser-cut steel mounting plate with precision welds.
Grip Diameters: * Standard: 1.25” diameter (1” schedule 40 tubing).
Fat Grip: 2” diameter (1.5" schedule 40 tubing) located on the outside neutral grips for increased grip tax.
Integrated Spheres: Features two pairs of welded pull-up spheres for elite grip training.
3” Spheres: Spaced 16” on center.
4” Spheres: Spaced 32” on center.
Dimensions: 47" Bar Width; 38" Mounting Plate Width; 7.5" Total Height.
Extension: Extends 17" outward from the mounting plate, providing ample head clearance for dynamic movements.
Compatibility: Exclusively for Rogue Monster Series (3x3” uprights/crossmembers with 1” holes).
Finish: Signature Black Powder Coat for a reliable, textured grip.
Hardware: Includes (4) 1" x 4.75" bolt assemblies.
Manufacturing: Proudly Made in the USA.
Performance Benefits
Maximum Grip Variance: The combination of standard bars, fat bars, and spheres allows for a nearly infinite variety of pull-up and hanging movements, targeting everything from the lats to the deep extensors of the forearm.
Structural Rigidity: Weighing in at approximately 40LB and secured with 1" Monster hardware, this bar provides a zero-flex experience, even during heavy weighted pull-ups or high-impact kipping.
Advanced Grip Development: The 3” and 4” spheres are specifically designed to build the "open-hand" strength required for high-level rock climbing and obstacle course racing.
Ergonomic Neutral Grips: The neutral grip options provide a safer alternative for athletes with shoulder impingement or wrist issues by allowing the humerus to rotate naturally during the pull.
Maintenance and Care
Powder Coat Care: Wipe the bar and spheres down after every session to remove sweat. Use a soft nylon brush to clear chalk from the textured surface; avoid wire brushes as they will mar the finish.
Hardware Tension: Periodically check the 1" bolt assemblies. While the Monster hardware is massive, the vibration from dynamic movements can cause hardware to settle over time.
Rust Prevention: In high-humidity environments, ensure the bar is kept dry. If the powder coat is chipped by a belt or vest, apply a rust-inhibiting touch-up paint to protect the raw steel.
Sphere Maintenance: Ensure the spheres remain free of jagged chalk buildup, which can become abrasive over time. A damp cloth and mild detergent are usually sufficient for cleaning.
Warranty Information
Rogue Fitness provides a Limited Lifetime Warranty on the structural welds and frame of the Monster Crown Pull-Up Bar for the original purchaser. This warranty covers functional defects in materials and workmanship. It does not cover the powder coat finish, normal aesthetic wear and tear, or damage caused by improper installation.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I mount this on a Monster Lite rack? A: No. This version uses 1" hardware and is designed for the hole spacing of the Monster Series. For Monster Lite racks, you will need the Rogue Crown Pull-Up Bar.
Q: Do I need to buy a separate crossmember to mount this? A: Yes, this is a face-mount attachment. It must be bolted to a Monster crossmember that has holes on the face. If your current crossmember is a smooth round bar or a beam without holes, you will need to upgrade to a 43" or 70" Monster Crossmember with holes.
Q: How far does it stick out from the rack? A: The bar extends 17" from the mounting plate. This is designed to give the athlete plenty of room to move without hitting their head or knees on the rack uprights.
Q: Is the knurling aggressive? A: This bar does not feature traditional machined knurling; instead, it uses Rogue's Signature Texture Black powder coat, which provides a very secure, "grippy" feel that holds chalk exceptionally well.
