Overview
OSO Safety Blocks are a simple yet highly effective solution for weightlifters looking to stabilize their barbell and simplify the loading process. Manufactured in Columbus, Ohio, these durable rubber chocks serve a dual purpose: they prevent the barbell from rolling on sloped floors—a common issue in garage gyms—and they provide just enough elevation to make adding or removing heavy plates effortless. Sold as pairs, they are a compact and cost-effective alternative to traditional metal deadlift jacks.

Performance Benefits
Effortless Plate Changes: By rolling the inside plates onto the blocks, the outer plates are elevated just enough to slide on and off without floor friction.
Barbell Stabilization: Acts as a "parking brake" for your barbell. This is essential for safety in garage gyms with sloped floors for drainage, preventing the bar from rolling away between sets.
Safe Loading Environment: Ideal for group training or CrossFit classes where multiple athletes are sharing a bar and quick, safe weight adjustments are necessary.
Versatile Use: Can be used with standard Olympic bars, shrug bars, and axle bars to keep them anchored and elevated.
Maintenance and Care
Cleaning: The rubber material is non-porous and easy to maintain. Simply wipe down with a damp cloth or mild soap to remove chalk and dust.
Inspection: Periodically check the surface of the blocks for any significant tears or embedded metal debris that could transfer to your plates or floor.
Storage: Due to their small footprint, they can be stored easily on a shelf, in a gym bag, or tucked under a power rack. Avoid prolonged exposure to extreme outdoor elements to prevent rubber degradation.
Warranty Information
Standard Warranty: As a specialized training accessory, this product typically carries a 1-year limited warranty covering defects in materials and manufacturing.
Exclusions: The warranty does not cover aesthetic wear, such as scuffs from plate contact, or damage caused by improper use or neglect.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Are these high enough to change 45lb plates easily? A: Yes. The OSO Safety Blocks provide sufficient elevation so that standard 45lb/20kg plates (including bumpers) clear the floor, allowing them to slide on and off the sleeve with ease.
Q: Will the barbell roll off the other side of the block? A: The blocks are designed with a slight cradle/chock shape. While you can roll the bar over them if you use too much force, they are engineered to "catch" and hold the bar in the center when rolled up at a normal speed.
Q: Do they work with Bumper Plates? A: Absolutely. They are 6" wide and work exceptionally well with the wider surface area of bumper plates, though they are equally effective with standard cast iron or steel plates.
Q: Can I use them to raise the bar for "block pulls"? A: No. These are specifically for loading and stabilization. They do not provide the structural height or surface area required for pulling heavy weight off of them as you would with DC Blocks or wooden jerk blocks.
