Overview
Developed in collaboration with Strongman expert Steve Slater, the Slater Slammer is a heavy-duty, macebell-inspired conditioning hammer. This versatile tool is designed to function as both a tire sledgehammer and a traditional macebell (Gada). Its standout feature is a loadable steel bell, allowing athletes to increase the resistance as they progress without needing to purchase multiple units.

Key Features and Specifications
Construction: Heavy-duty American steel with a handle that runs the full length of the bell and is welded at both the base and the cap.
Loadable Bell: 6.5" diameter steel head that can be filled with sand, BBs, or buckshot.
Handle: 1.9" diameter handle with a length of 30.5".
Total Length: 37.5".
Weight (Unloaded): 25 LB.
Weight Capacity: Loadable to over 53 LB (depending on filler density).
Finish: Industrial black powder coat.
Origin: Made in the USA.
Performance Benefits
Hybrid Utility: Combines the mechanics of a sledgehammer with the rotational dynamics of a macebell, ideal for 360-swings, barbarian squats, and tire strikes.
Explosive Power: The rounded edges of the bell allow for high-speed ballistic strikes against tires or blocks with significantly less risk of recoil than a flat-faced sledgehammer.
Grip & Forearm Specialist: The 1.9" handle diameter is thicker than standard hammers, placing a higher demand on grip strength and forearm endurance during swings and strikes.
Scalable Resistance: The loadable design eliminates the "ceiling" of traditional macebells, allowing for precise weight adjustments for specialized strength goals.
Maintenance and Care
Filling Instructions: To adjust the weight, use a 5/8" Hex Key (Allen Key) to remove the cap on the bell. Fill with dry sand or lead shot, then tighten the cap securely. (Note: Hex Key is not included).
Cleaning: Wipe the steel surface with a damp cloth and mild soap. To preserve the powder coat and prevent oxidation, apply a light coat of 3-in-1 oil to the handle if used in high-moisture environments.
Surface Usage: Designed for striking specialized training tires or ballistic blocks. Do not strike metal, concrete, or stone, as this will damage the bell and create dangerous recoil.
Inspection: Regularly check the tightness of the fill cap and inspect the welds for any signs of fatigue after heavy striking sessions.
Branding Note: The Rogue/Slater decals are made of vinyl; they may peel or wear off during high-intensity tire strikes, which is considered normal cosmetic wear for this implement.
Warranty Information
The Slater Slammer is a professional-grade tool built to withstand heavy use. Warranty typically covers manufacturing defects in the steel structure and welds.
Note: Cosmetic damage to the powder coat or vinyl lettering from striking tires is not covered. The warranty may be voided if the hammer is used to strike non-recommended surfaces (like concrete or metal).
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I use this for standard macebell flows? A: Yes, though it is slightly shorter and features a thicker handle than some traditional competition maces. This makes it more oriented toward high-torque power swings and strikes.
Q: What is the best filler for max weight? A: To reach the maximum weight capacity of 53+ LB, lead shot or steel BBs are recommended due to their high density compared to sand.
Q: Do I need to wear gloves? A: The powder-coated finish provides a solid grip, but for high-volume tire strikes, some athletes prefer gloves to prevent blisters on the palm and fingers.
Q: Will the bell dent over time? A: The bell is made of thick US steel designed to withstand tire strikes; however, like any striking tool, minor cosmetic flat spots or scuffs may occur over years of use.
