Overview
The Rogue SR Competition Replacement Cables (also known as "Comp Cables") are the highest-performance cables in the SR lineup. Unlike standard coated ropes, these are made of bare, uncoated stainless steel. This design reduces weight and minimizes air resistance, allowing for significantly higher RPMs. They are the premier choice for advanced athletes who want the fastest possible double-unders and triple-unders.

Performance Benefits
Extreme Speed: The lack of a plastic coating and the thin 1.8mm diameter make this cable "ballistic," cutting through the air with zero drag.
No Kinking: Bare stainless steel does not retain "memory" kinks like nylon cables, ensuring a perfect arc every time you jump.
Elite Proficiency: Designed for competitive use where every millisecond counts during high-volume sets.
Sizing and Installation Instructions
The Comp Cable must be sized manually. Note: A specific tool is required.
Required Tool: You will need a 0.035" size hex key (Allen wrench) to adjust the set screws. Please note: This hex key is NOT included with individual replacement cables.
Measure: Feed the cable through your handles and stand on the center with one foot.
Determine Length: Pull handles up to chest/armpit level.
Secure: Use the 0.035" hex key to tighten the 3A screws firmly.
Test & Trim: Jump several times to test the length. Once confirmed, use high-quality wire cutters to trim the excess. Replace the rubber end cap.
Pro Tip: Check the set screws after your first workout. If they have loosened, retighten them firmly to prevent the cable from slipping out of the handle.
Maintenance and Surface Recommendations
Surface Restriction: Because there is no protective coating, this cable must only be used on smooth rubber gym mats. Using bare steel on concrete, asphalt, or wood will cause the cable to unravel and fray almost instantly.
Injury Warning: Due to the speed and the thin nature of bare steel, a "miss" with this rope will leave a noticeable mark. It is recommended for advanced jumpers only.
Corrosion: Stainless steel is resistant to rust, but avoid leaving it in damp environments for extended periods.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: Does this cable come with the hex key? A: No. Individual replacement cables do not include the 0.035" hex key. We recommend purchasing one in advance or using the key provided with your original SR-2/SR-3 purchase.
Q: Can I use this for my daily outdoor workouts? A: No. Bare steel cables will fray immediately on outdoor surfaces. For outdoor use, we recommend the Rogue Beaded Rope or a Nylon Coated Cable.
Q: How often should I replace a comp cable? A: Competition cables are high-performance consumables. Replace the cable if you notice any "stray strands" of wire near the handle interface or where the cable makes contact with the floor.
Q: Can I buy these in bulk? A: Yes. Rogue offers these cables in Single packs or 5-Packs for high-volume training environments.
