Overview
The DC Blocks Flat Top is a specialized accessory designed to expand the utility of a standard DC Blocks stack. Unlike the standard blocks which feature crenellated (interlocking) teeth on the top surface, the Flat Top provides a completely smooth, level landing or stance platform. This makes it an essential component for athletes who want to use their DC Blocks for exercises beyond barbell pulling, such as plyometrics, step-ups, and box squats.

Performance Benefits
Plyometric Safety: Provides a flat, stable surface for box jumps and step-ups, eliminating the uneven footing caused by the standard interlocking teeth.
Box Squat Comfort: Offers a much more comfortable and even surface for athletes performing box squats compared to sitting on the crenellated edges of standard blocks.
Improvised Weight Bench: When placed on top of two side-by-side stacks of standard DC Blocks (or one stack of Double-Wide blocks), the Flat Top can function as a temporary, portable weight bench for floor presses and other seated movements.
Assistance Exercises: Ideal for any movement that requires a level stance, such as Bulgarian split squats or elevated lunges.
Maintenance and Care
Stacking Safety: IMPORTANT: Do NOT stack a Flat Top on top of another Flat Top. Because they lack interlocking edges on the top surface, they cannot be securely stacked with each other. They must always be the final (topmost) piece of a DC Block stack.
Cleaning: The non-porous recycled plastic is resistant to sweat and chalk. Wipe down with a damp cloth or a standard gym disinfectant wipe to maintain a clean surface.
Visual Inspection: Regularly check the interlocking base to ensure no debris is trapped, which could prevent a flush fit with the supporting blocks below.
Surface Grip: While the plastic is durable, it can become slippery if excessive sweat or chalk builds up. Ensure the surface is dry before performing high-impact movements like box jumps.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I use this for barbell pulling? A: Yes, you can drop a barbell onto a Flat Top. However, because it lacks a "lip" or the grooves of the standard blocks, the barbell may roll more freely upon landing. Many lifters prefer the standard DC Blocks for pulling to keep the bar centered.
Q: Is the Flat Top compatible with the Double-Wide DC Blocks? A: Yes. The Flat Top has the same 19" x 15.5" footprint as a standard block and will fit onto either half of a Double-Wide block.
Q: Can I buy just one Flat Top? A: Currently, Rogue offers these in sets of 2, 4, or 6 to ensure you have a matching pair for both sides of your barbell or for a wider stance platform.
Q: Will it slide off the stack? A: No. The bottom of the Flat Top is designed to interlock perfectly with the teeth of the block directly beneath it, ensuring it stays locked in place horizontally.
